Alan received a Master in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley after earning a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, sculpture and photography from the University of California at Los Angeles. Before launching his architectural career Alan helped to create a not-for-profit multimedia organization called Visual Communications, producing documentary films, books and educational materials.
In 1985 ODS Architecture / Ohashi Design Studio began as a combination of studies in Architecture, furniture and teaching. Designing furniture for Conde House, a company based in Japan, Herman Miller in Michigan and teaching furniture and architecture at UC Berkeley and the California College of Arts filled out the early years of the practice. Currently Alan focuses on maintaining design quality, directing marketing efforts and daily management of the firm.
Philip received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, which included studies in Italy. Responsible for the firm’s overall design direction and quality control, he is also a meticulous detailer. Philip manages the firm’s most complex projects and has a hand in guiding every project as a mentor and collaborator. Born in Guang Zhou, China, his multicultural background enriches his design vocabulary.
Sean came to us from Aidlin Darling Design with a background in high end residence design, detailing and construction. Sean earned a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Washington, a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley, and worked at Suyama Peterson Deguchi architects in Seattle, Washington and Morimoto Architects in Berkeley. He is a licensed architect in California, and is currently managing the design process for a large project in Wine Country.
Growing up in Santa Barbara she attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo receiving a Bachelor of Architecture degree and is licensed to practice architecture in California. Julia was at Aidlin Darling Design in San Francisco and then Koch Architects in Berkeley working on high end residences and restaurants and was involved in all aspects of design and project administration. Her outside interests include having just purchased her own laser cutting machine with which she designs and makes her own jewelry, and playing the drums in a local rock band.
Having received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Architecture from University of California Berkeley, Dmitry joined our firm in 2014. He has multiple roles managing architectural design projects, the firm website, and maintaining our online presence. Growing up in Russia and moving to California at a young age has been an advantage in the profession of architecture, giving him a unique cultural perspective. In addition, his experience as a professional Barista provides him with an advantage in working with unique client needs.
Apart from work, Dmitry is an outdoorsman and an adventure seeker. If he isn’t exploring, he’s either wrenching on his overland rig or cheering from the grandstands of a Formula 1 race.
A Bay Area native, growing up in Piedmont, Christo received a Bachelors of Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is licensed to practice architecture in California. His prior experience was primarily designing schools, gyms, theaters, offices and homes when he was at Studio Bondy Architecture in Oakland. Before that, he worked at Levitch Associates in Berkeley, Bull Stockwell Allen Architects and Hilliard Architects in San Francisco. Christo is overseeing several new custom home projects that require his experience, design and organizational skills.
Raised in the San Jose area after moving from India at a young age, she received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University in New York. Moving back to the Bay Area she worked at the family landscape design firm, then joined Landsystems Landscapes in Redwood City. Mona is now focused on developing her skills in the practice of architecture while incorporating her landscape knowledge into our projects.
Mona was raised in Iran, lived in Europe before moving to the U.S., and has been in the Bay Area for 7 years. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and worked for several years before leaving Iran and also has an associate degree in computer science from Iran. Coming to the U.S. she studied multimedia art at Berkeley City College, then graduated with distinction from Architecture Advance program from University of California, Berkeley in 2014. She has extensive work experience working at different firms through Bay area since 2015 including Kava Massih, Baran Studio Architecture and Piechota Architecture prior to joining ODS. She is currently a licensure candidate studying and working towards obtaining an architectural license in the State of California.
Toune received a Certificate of Achievement, Interior Design from Ohlone College and prior to that earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Film & Media Communications from University of California Santa Cruz. After working early on in entertainment PR/advertising, she found interior design to be her passion to express creativity and believes that designed spaces are an internal reflection of who we are to the external world. Continuing in this field led her to Noz Design, TRG Architects and Aquilo Interiors before joining us. This experience validated her interest in high-end residential architecture and interior design.
A Central Valley, California native, Stephanie started in commercial and contract interior design at CORE Spaces + Design as both an intern and designer after graduating with a Bachelor of Interior Design from California State University, Fresno, in 2016. Working in our firm is allowing her to expand her skills in residential interior design and fulfill a goal of living in the S.F. Bay Area.
Having graduated from the University of Architecture of Versailles in France, Antoine has developed his practice of architecture design around the world including Paris, Tokyo and Hongkong before coming to the U.S. in 2018. By following his passion for the California midcentury architecture, he worked at Koch Architects in Berkeley before joining us in 2022. Antoine’s experience in a wide variety of projects, scale, and cultures has made him a unique addition to the firm.
A Bay Area native Gretchen earned a B.F.A in Photography with a minor in Interior Architecture from CCA in Oakland. She also attended U. of Colorado where she received a B.S. in Journalism. Working at 1701 Associates in Oakland managing construction projects, she went on to Wolfe Inc. a general contracting firm. Then joining Vida Health a multi-disciplinary whole body health firm as a coach and manager. Her background in construction, administration, human resources, and design fills an important role in our growing firm.
