A modest art deco styled home in San Francisco the original street fa├žade was kept with beautiful circular window trim. Inside the space was completely opened up and simplified visually, with an approximate eight-foot addition to the rear yard in a modern-look but still complimentary visually with the art deco inspired street facade.

Interior walls were removed opening the living, family, dining and kitchen up with views either way toward the street, or the nicely landscaped backyard. Large Fleetwood windows face the garden view, with a dramatic glass sliding pocket door that disappears totally into the wall with slid open. A new pantry and powder room were carved out of available space and a simple color palette of walnut and light gray complete the space.

Owner artwork was designed and laid out so they are appropriate to the spaces they are placed in and provide color accents.

ODS interiors selected the furniture including bar stools by Sossego, painted glass topped dining table and chairs by Huppe Magnolia with a HEWN console and glass Plank coffee table. To complete the ensemble we had two existing armchairs reupholstered in a custom fabric with matching pillows. Lighting consisted of a Herculeum ceiling pendant and corner floor lamp by FLOS. A classic small San Francisco row home became a good example of modern space utilization and design working with a more traditional San Francisco home.
